What We Do
We advise on land acquisition, option agreements and conditional contracts, rooftop and site leases, access and easement rights, contracts with operators, funders and suppliers, joint ventures and shareholder arrangements, employment matters, and the disputes that arise from any of them.
Why We’re Experts
These are decades-long commitments between parties who have to stay aligned throughout. The land rights matter — but so do the arrangements between the people funding and running the project, and those are far harder to unpick later.
How we work with you
We act for landowners being approached and for operators securing sites, right across England and Wales, and explain the commercial effect of the terms before you sign.
Frequently Asked
Questions
We’ve been approached about leasing land or a rooftop. What should we consider?
Term, rent reviews, access rights, what happens to the land at the end and who is responsible for removing equipment. These agreements often run for decades, so the terms deserve proper attention before anything is signed.
What is an option agreement, and why would we use one?
It gives a developer the right to acquire land within an agreed period, usually subject to conditions such as planning. It suits both sides where a project needs certainty over the land before significant money is spent.
Do you act for landowners or for operators?
Both. Landowners being approached and operators securing sites face the same documents from opposite directions, and knowing how each side thinks makes for better advice either way.
Can you advise on the corporate arrangements as well as the land?
Yes. Joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and contracts with funders and operators sit alongside the land work, and problems in one usually show up in the other.
How much will it cost?
We will explain the likely cost once we understand what is involved. Where a fixed fee is available, we will confirm what is included before work begins.
