Do you act for smaller charities as well as larger organisations?
Yes. The legal issues are often the same regardless of size – contracts, premises, employment and disputes – but the budget and the level of support needed differ, and we scope our involvement accordingly.
Someone has left a gift to our organisation in their will. Can you help?
Yes. We advise on legacies left through wills and estates, including where the position is unclear or the estate is taking longer than expected to administer.
Can you advise on employment matters and settlement agreements?
Yes. We advise organisations on employment issues and prepare settlement agreements where an employment relationship is being brought to an agreed conclusion.
We’re taking on new premises. What should trustees be considering?
The length of the commitment, repairing obligations, service charge exposure and whether the organisation can exit if circumstances change. We will set the risks out clearly so the board can decide with confidence.
How much will it cost?
We will explain the likely cost once we understand what is involved. Where a fixed fee is available, we will confirm what is included before work begins.
